The Saudi Water Authority announced the end of the mandatory compliance period for applying the requirements of water filling station activities (“Ashyab”) on Tuesday, March 31. This follows a corrective period that began last October, during which station owners and operators were given the opportunity to complete licensing procedures and comply with the approved regulatory requirements.

The Authority confirmed the commencement of field inspection campaigns on water filling stations (“Ashyab”) across various regions of the Kingdom. These inspections aim to verify compliance with licensing requirements and adherence to approved technical and operational standards, as part of its efforts to regulate the sector and enhance the reliability of services provided.

It further stated that the transition to the inspection phase comes after the expiration of the corrective period, reflecting full readiness to enforce regulatory procedures, curb unlicensed practices, and strengthen compliance levels across the sector. This will contribute to improving water quality, enhancing public health safety, and increasing operational efficiency and service sustainability.

The Authority noted that the inspection campaigns will result in the enforcement of regulatory measures against non-compliant establishments in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. It emphasized that failure to comply with regulatory requirements or complete licensing procedures will subject violators to legal penalties, ensuring proper regulation of the activity and protection of beneficiaries.
