The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) has called on operators engaged in non-network water transport activities to rectify their operational status, as the deadline for the first phase approaches, set to conclude at the end of 31 December, in line with the implementation of approved regulatory and technical requirements governing these activities.

SWA explained that this phase forms part of efforts to regulate water distribution via tankers, in addition to wastewater collection services, with the aim of improving service quality, enhancing water safety, and strengthening compliance and oversight.

It further noted that the requirements of the first phase include essential technical and regulatory standards, most notably periodic inspection of transport vehicles and the application of the approved visual identity, in preparation for transitioning to the second phase, which will introduce additional technical requirements.

SWA indicated that the process of completing corrective actions and applying for the required licenses is available through its official website, emphasizing that once the deadline expires, compliance will be monitored through regulatory inspections, field audits, and enforcement actions in accordance with applicable regulations.
