SWA Issues Two Violations of Water Law, Imposes SAR 130,000 in Fines

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) issued two violations of the Water Law against two establishments, following the completion of inspection and verification processes and the confirmation of violations in accordance with the published decisions.
Under Decision No. (2159), SWA fined Anhar Renad International Factory SAR 100,000 for illegally connecting to the water network in Yanbu. The entity is also required to bear the full cost of repairing the damage it caused and to compensate for lost benefits.
Under Decision No. (3012), SWA fined Hassan Jaber Mohammed Al Alawi Contracting Company SAR 30,000 for tampering with the cover of a sewer network inspection chamber by discharging water of unknown source into the network in Jeddah. The entity is also required to bear the full cost of repairing the damage it caused.
SWA emphasized that these measures fall within its regulatory mandate to enforce the provisions of the Water Law and its implementing regulations, in a manner that enhances the protection of water infrastructure and limits non-compliant practices.
