Saudi Water Authority Unveils 18 Investment Opportunities to Localize Water Industries and Services

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) is showcasing 18 promising investment opportunities to localize industries and services related to the water sector during Saudi Water Week. Backed by an expected investment demand exceeding SAR 15 billion over the next five years, these opportunities are designed to strengthen local content, develop national supply chains, enhance the sector’s competitiveness, and stimulate investment in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The investment opportunities cover a wide range of water-related industries and supporting services, with an expected average investment return of up to 12% and export potential ranging between 30% and 50% across several industries. These opportunities will help localize advanced technologies, strengthen national capabilities, and enable local manufacturers to expand into regional and global markets.

These opportunities are part of the Authority’s efforts to build an integrated local content ecosystem within the water sector by encouraging high-quality investments, expanding the local contribution of water-related industries and services, and broadening the participation of national suppliers and manufacturers.

The Authority explained that these opportunities represent a key driver for developing water-related industries and services through advanced technologies, strengthening the reliability of supply chains, creating high-quality employment opportunities for national talent, enhancing the competitiveness of local products and services, and supporting the long-term sustainability of the sector.

As part of its participation in Saudi Water Week, the Authority is presenting its vision for the future of the water sector through six panel discussions, three keynote presentations, and three specialized workshops covering water sector regulation, water security, investment and supply chain localization, innovation and digital transformation, water resource sustainability, the latest technologies, operational efficiency, and sustainability.

The Authority’s participation also includes the signing of eight agreements and memoranda of understanding with academic institutions and specialized companies, reinforcing the innovation ecosystem, facilitating knowledge transfer, advancing water technologies, strengthening national capabilities, and expanding strategic partnerships in research, development, and innovation.

Visitors to the Authority’s pavilion can explore an interactive knowledge experience highlighting its key initiatives and strategic programs in water sector regulation, water security, the Saudi Water Innovation Center, and the Advanced Water Technologies Innovation and Research Institute.

The Saudi Water Authority reaffirmed that investing in water-related industries and services represents a fundamental pillar for enhancing the sector’s sustainability and future readiness, further strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a global hub for knowledge, innovation, and investment in the water sector.
