The Industry Sector, in partnership with the Water Ecosystem, organized a joint workshop attended by His Excellency Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, and His Excellency Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Abdulkarim, President of the Saudi Water Authority, along with several leaders from both the water and industrial sectors. The workshop reviewed opportunities to strengthen integration between the two sectors, localize water-related industries and technologies, attract investments, and increase local content, in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The workshop highlighted key areas of cooperation between the two sectors and showcased promising industrial and investment opportunities. Discussions covered the Standard Incentives Program, the Innovative Factories Initiative, opportunities to reuse treated water in the industrial and mining sectors, the role of the Water Oasis in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, and the Specialized Industrial Clusters Program, all of which contribute to developing water-related value chains.

Participants also discussed mechanisms to empower investors, encourage the localization of priority technologies and products, and strengthen local content, contributing to improving the competitiveness and long-term sustainability of national industries.

The workshop concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Water Authority and the National Center for Industrial Development. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in developing water-related industries, support the localization of technologies and products, facilitate high-quality investments, and promote the exchange of expertise and studies, contributing to increasing local content and enhancing the sector’s competitiveness.

The workshop and the memorandum of understanding build on the ongoing efforts of the Water Ecosystem and the Industry Sector to strengthen integration between the water and industrial sectors, activate national partnerships, and establish an advanced industrial ecosystem for the water sector, supporting economic development and contributing to achieving the objectives of the National Water Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
