SWA Releases Its First Sustainability Report for 2024 Titled “For Growing Generations and Everlasting Resources”

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) has released its inaugural Sustainability Report for 2024, under the title “For Growing Generations and Everlasting Resources”. The report highlights the Authority’s efforts and initiatives in advancing sustainable practices, emphasizing the role of the water sector in delivering innovative and reliable solutions that contribute to conserving natural resources and promoting sustainable development.

The release of this report reflects SWA’s commitment to transparency and to embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, in support of building an efficient and sustainable water system. It also underscores the Authority’s pivotal role in the transformation journey it is leading, and its dedication to fulfilling its supervisory and regulatory responsibilities in line with the highest local and international standards.

Coinciding with the Authority’s third Board of Directors meeting, the report outlines how sustainability is embedded in SWA’s strategies and operations. It presents the Authority’s efforts in delivering high-efficiency solutions that ensure resource sustainability, enhance supply reliability, and align with national development goals. It also documents a year’s worth of programs and initiatives that have contributed to community service, supported the national economy, and advanced progress toward Saudi Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in accordance with leading corporate disclosure standards, including those of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The report spotlights 19 key topics relevant to the water sector’s operations, covering areas such as digital transformation, national talent empowerment, policy and regulatory development, stakeholder engagement, and support for innovation.

The report was released with the direct support of SWA’s Board of Directors, chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen AlFadley, reflecting the Board’s commitment to promoting transparency and advancing institutional sustainability practices in line with the highest standards.
