The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) concluded its active participation in the second edition of the Hajj Media Hub 1446H, where it presented a comprehensive narrative on the integration and readiness of the Kingdom’s water sector—one of the key pillars in serving pilgrims during the world’s largest annual gathering.
As part of its presence, SWA offered a unique interactive experience titled “The Story of Water in Hajj”, tracing the complete water supply chain from seawater desalination to transportation, treatment, distribution, reuse, and irrigation. This experience was delivered in multiple languages, aiming to reach a broad international audience.
Through a combination of detailed visual and data-driven content, SWA’s pavilion showcased major projects and initiatives implemented for the Hajj season. It featured the latest technologies in desalination, storage, transmission, and treatment, alongside smart operations and environmental sustainability solutions. The pavilion also provided real-time data and precise statistics that supported specialized media coverage and enriched news reports with reliable, first-hand information.
The pavilion drew significant attention from forum visitors, which—according to estimates by the Ministry of Media—numbered around 10,000 media professionals and attendees, representing more than 150 local and international outlets. The pavilion was also visited by ministers, officials, and delegation heads who were briefed on major projects, operational plans, seasonal response methodologies, and smart technologies deployed during Hajj.
Functioning as a unified platform, the pavilion brought together all arms of the national water sector operating under the umbrella of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. These include: the Saudi Water Authority, its interim operational arm the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), the Water Transmission and Technologies Company, the National Water Company, the Saudi Water Partnership Company, the National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE), the Saudi Irrigation Organization, and the Sekaya Charitable Foundation.
SWA’s participation this year builds on its engagement in the first edition of the hub and reflects its ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with the media sector. It also highlights the Authority’s achievements and the operational preparedness of the water sector in delivering on the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 with confidence and excellence.
