The water sector inaugurated its interactive pavilion today at the Hajj Media Hub, aiming to enhance media engagement and raise awareness of its full operational readiness. The initiative highlights the sector’s pivotal role in ensuring a reliable water supply in Makkah and the holy sites, delivered according to the highest quality standards and utilizing the latest sustainable technologies.
The Saudi Water Authority’s pavilion serves as a comprehensive knowledge hub. It presents key projects and initiatives implemented specifically for the Hajj season. The space offers journalists and media professionals—both local and international—a unique opportunity to explore real-time developments in the complex operations of water production, transmission, distribution, and treatment. It also provides updated data and detailed statistics that enrich journalistic coverage and elevate the quality of media content related to services provided to pilgrims.
Going beyond traditional exhibits, the Authority has introduced innovative interactive experiences and precise daily operational statistics. Visitors can explore the entire water supply chain, gain insights into the role of each entity within the integrated water sector, and interact with complex technical details through advanced visual displays and multilingual interactive films. These tools offer an immersive educational experience highlighting the sector’s leadership, production volumes, and massive distribution networks that ensure reliable water delivery to pilgrims.
This year’s Hajj Media Hub, which runs through the 7th of Dhul-Hijjah, features a range of interactive and service-oriented zones, including the “Tirhab” welcome area. “Hajj Window” screens share powerful stories and experiences from the pilgrimage using creative storytelling. Meanwhile, the “Transformation Exhibition” offers an immersive experience highlighting the advanced services supporting Hajj, with the participation of 11 public and private entities.
Now in its second edition, the Hub builds on the significant success of its inaugural event, which brought together over 2,000 journalists and media professionals, representing 150 media outlets from around the world. More than 1,000 news reports were published through the virtual media center, with over 15 government and private entities taking part, setting a new benchmark in media coordination and field services during Hajj. The current edition aims to build on these successes and strengthen its impact further.
