In close coordination with water sector entities and as part of its operational plan for Hajj 1446H, the Saudi Water Authority continues its intensive inspection campaigns across the Holy Sites and Makkah to ensure the readiness and reliability of water supply during this year’s Hajj.
As the peak season approaches, the Authority has ramped up around-the-clock monitoring efforts, covering 14 critical water service networks across Makkah and the Holy Sites. These networks represent one of the world’s most expansive and advanced water infrastructures, fully dedicated to serving pilgrims. They include the general water network, potable water network, wastewater system, cooling water network, misting network, and fire protection system.
Each network is subject to rigorous field surveillance by specialized teams operating continuously to ensure operational readiness, anticipate potential disruptions, and address any technical issues or violations in accordance with regulatory procedures.
These efforts fall under a proactive oversight plan, under which nearly 5,000 inspection tours have been carried out by 12 specialized field teams, totaling more than 2,000 working hours so far.
This initiative reflects the integration of entities across the water sector under the umbrella of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, underscoring a firm commitment to supply reliability and safe, stable service environments. It also demonstrates the high level of institutional preparedness achieved through strong national coordination and the dedication of frontline field teams.
