The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) has launched a new incentive initiative aimed at encouraging individuals benefiting from water and wastewater services through unauthorized connections to come forward and submit correction requests to the National Water Company (NWC). The correction period will last for three months, beginning Sunday, May 18, 2025, and ending Monday, August 18, 2025.

In collaboration with the NWC, the SWA has identified multiple violations involving illegal connections to public water and wastewater networks. These unauthorized connections have been executed by individuals, often with the assistance of laborers, to link their properties to services without proper registration, billing, or payment of the applicable service fees.

The SWA clarified that individuals who utilize this initiative will be exempt from financial penalties and associated charges. It further emphasized that such violations undermine the fair distribution of water, affect service quality and water pressure, and may result in sewage overflows, thereby posing risks to public health and the environment.

Beneficiaries using water and wastewater services without proper authorization will have a three-month window to regularize their records. Following the August 18 deadline, the SWA will begin enforcing regulatory action against any newly discovered unauthorized connections. Penalties may include fines of up to SAR 20 million, as stipulated by applicable regulations.

The SWA urges all violators to act promptly and correct their service status. The NWC will facilitate the correction process through its official channels, including its mobile application and online branch at https://ebranch.nwc.com.sa/login , ensuring fairness and equality among all beneficiaries of water and wastewater services.
