The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) has emphasized the importance of consumers connecting their homes and facilities to official water and wastewater networks through authorized and legal procedures. The Authority noted that such compliance directly contributes to improving service quality, preserving water resources, and ensuring environmental and public health safety.

SWA pointed out that unauthorized or illegal connections constitute a clear violation of the Water Law, as they negatively impact network efficiency, service quality, and infrastructure integrity. These violations may also lead to leaks, environmental pollution, and risks to public health.

The Authority stressed that using public networks without a permit or through random connections could subject violators to legal penalties and directly affect the reliability of water supply and wastewater services. It called for collective efforts to curb these violations.

SWA urged all beneficiaries, contractors, and service providers to adhere to regulations and apply for officially approved connections through their service providers. The Authority affirmed that public awareness—both individual and institutional—is fundamental to protecting and sustaining water resources.
