Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkarim, President of the Saudi Water Authority (SWA), the Authority officially launched today (Thursday) the identity of the 11th edition of the IDRA World Congress. The event took place during the reception of a delegation from the International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA), led by Secretary General Ms. Shannon McCarthy, at SWA headquarters in Riyadh.
This milestone marks the beginning of the Kingdom’s preparations to host the most prominent global event in the water sector and reflects its unwavering commitment to a sustainable future driven by innovation and international collaboration in addressing water challenges.
The newly launched identity reflects the Kingdom’s vision for this vital sector and reinforces its global leadership in developing technical and environmental solutions for water innovation and services management.
During the meeting, both sides discussed coordination and cooperation mechanisms between SWA and IDRA to ensure the successful organization of a world-class congress that reflects Saudi Arabia’s global standing and aspirations as a pioneering force in water innovation.
Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Sheikh, SWA Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Local Content, emphasized that the launch of the congress identity is a pivotal step on the roadmap toward delivering an exceptional edition of the event. He noted that the Kingdom’s advanced infrastructure, national expertise, and proven leadership in the water sector qualify it to provide a global experience that will help shape the future of water.
Ms. Shannon McCarthy praised the Kingdom’s high readiness to host this major global event, and the significance of the newly unveiled identity as a symbol of Saudi Arabia’s capabilities in delivering an impactful and content-rich congress. She also highlighted the Kingdom’s role in strengthening international partnerships and deploying innovative technologies to advance global water security, resource and service management, and efficiency in water treatment and reuse.
She affirmed that Saudi Arabia’s hosting of this event builds on its longstanding leadership in the water sector and is a living testament to its ambitious vision for a more sustainable future.
The 11th IDRA World Congress is set to take place in Riyadh, with the participation of over 60 countries and an elite group of decision-makers, experts, and innovators in the water sector.
