Saudi Water Authority President Concludes Official Visit to Singapore Highlighting Investment Opportunities and Innovative Solutions in the Water Sector

The Saudi Water Authority delegation, led by His Excellency Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkarim, concluded a two-day official visit to Singapore with the participation of leaders from various water sector entities. The visit aimed to enhance international cooperation in water resource management and included participation in the Saudi-Singapore Water Conference and visits to specialized companies.


During the visit, H.E. Eng. Al-Abdulkarim held a series of high-level meetings, including discussions with Ms. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment in Singapore, and Mr. Tze Chin Ong Chief Executive of Singapore's National Water Agency. The meetings focused on shared issues such as efficient water resource management, strengthening water security, and ensuring sustainability.


The visit also included field tours of several water technology companies to explore the latest research and innovations in water treatment, digitalization technologies, and solutions to improve operational efficiency.


His Excellency chaired the opening of the Saudi-Singapore Water Conference, which witnessed broad participation from experts, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs. The conference highlighted investment opportunities and incentives offered by Saudi Arabia for water sector investors, as well as innovations and solutions that support the sector's long-term sustainability. Additionally, H.E. participated in a roundtable meeting that brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups.


The conference also saw the signing of four Memorandums of Understanding between the Saudi Water Authority, represented by the Water Academy (the academic arm of the Authority), and the Water Technology Innovation and Research Development Institute (the research arm of the Authority), and several Singaporean companies. These agreements aim to enhance strategic cooperation, implement knowledge exchange programs, develop technical skills, and conduct innovative research for sustainable water solutions.


The Saudi Water Authority, along with the National Water Company, the Saudi Water Partnerships Company, the Ministry of Investment, and the Public Investment Fund, delivered presentations during the conference. These presentations focused on showcasing investment opportunities in the water sector, exploring potential strategic partnerships, and highlighting innovations and technological solutions that contribute to enhancing operational efficiency and achieving environmental and developmental goals.
