The water sector, represented by the Saudi Water Authority, concluded its participation as a strategic partner in the 4th Future Minerals Forum under the theme "Creating Impact." The conference, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, was held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh from January 13 to 16, 2025.

This participation aligns with the water sector's efforts to enhance integration between the water and mining sectors and highlight its role in achieving water resource sustainability and supporting industrial operations. It marks a strategic step to emphasize the importance of water as a key resource driving sustainable economic development in line with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.

During the conference and accompanying exhibition, the water sector showcased the vital role of water supplies in supporting the mining sector, highlighting water's importance across all stages of mining operations. Efforts to develop sustainable brine management were presented as an emerging economic opportunity. These efforts include the application of zero-liquid-discharge (ZLD) technology, which aims to minimize water loss and utilize valuable minerals and elements in brine, contributing to resource sustainability and increased economic value.

The water sector participated in a panel discussion titled: "Sustainable Water Management Strategy and Its Positive Impact on the Mining Industry." The discussion explored promising investment opportunities in brine mining, maximizing its potential through ZLD technology, promoting circular economy principles, reusing treated water for the mining sector, and fostering partnerships between the water and mining sectors.

This participation reflects the water sector's commitment to maximizing the benefits of treated water and reusing it to support mining industries, reducing the depletion of natural resources, and achieving greater operational efficiency. It aligns with circular economy principles, minimizing waste, and reusing resources in innovative and sustainable ways. The initiative highlights the Kingdom's commitment to adopting advanced solutions that integrate key sectors, reinforcing Saudi Arabia's position as a global hub for innovation and sustainability.

The water sector places significant emphasis on strategic partnerships with the mining industry to support sustainable development goals and foster technological innovation in water management. It is dedicated to providing innovative solutions that meet the needs of the mining sector, continuously improving environmental impact while promoting integration between various sectors to achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability.
