Saudi Water Authority Board Holds Its Second Meeting

The Board of Directors of the Saudi Water Authority held its second meeting today in Riyadh, chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen AlFadley, with the attendance of His Excellency the Vice Chairman of the Board and President of the Authority, Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkareem, along with other board members.
The meeting reviewed the Authority’s 2024 achievements within the framework of its strategic transformation, which is driven by nine integrated programs comprising 42 approved initiatives. These aim to deliver a qualitative leap in the water sector and support the Kingdom’s direction toward sustainability and water sector development in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The board reviewed the Authority’s business model and operating model, which focus on enhancing regulatory, sectoral, and support services. These are organized into 24 services designed to meet beneficiaries’ needs with high quality. The board also discussed performance reports related to the Authority’s projects, including efforts to improve the efficiency of production systems through its interim operational arm, “Water Desalination,” and the expansion of reliable and comprehensive services that meet the expectations of various sectors.
During the meeting, the board approved the strategic performance targets for 2025 and reviewed the key performance indicators at the board level. This included strategic directions related to regulation, customer services, operational efficiency, economic impact, and institutional transformation.
The board reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to its vision of delivering a world-class model in water management based on innovation and sustainability, to support economic growth and enhance quality of life in alignment with the Kingdom’s ambitious aspirations.
