The gas turbines at the Ras Al-Khair production system—part of the “Water Desalination” entity, the interim operational arm of the Saudi Water Authority—have achieved the highest reliability rate both regionally and globally, reaching 99.7%, surpassing the global benchmark of 98.9% by 0.8%, according to Siemens’ performance indicators report.

The system successfully met all its commitments for water and power supply to beneficiary entities. This milestone reflects the efforts of the Saudi Water Authority and its operational arm in enhancing maintenance efficiency, operational performance, and service quality. These achievements were made possible by the precise execution of strategic plans and programs, optimal asset and human resource utilization, and the adoption of best-in-class standards and practices to ensure business continuity, quality, and professional excellence, while upholding occupational, health, and environmental safety.

The Ras Al-Khair production system is recognized as one of the world’s largest industrial facilities with advanced technical capabilities, operating on a combined cycle system. It stands out for its high efficiency and operational reliability, serving as a global model for energy dependability and water sustainability.
