Statement Regarding Partial Breakage of One Terminal Pipeline in Riyadh-Qassim Water Transmission System

In reference to the partial rupture of one of the terminal pipelines in the Riyadh-Qassim water transmission system on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, His Excellency the Vice President for Technical Affairs and Projects, Eng. Sharekh bin Ibrahim Al-Sharekh, who visited the breakage site at the time and today during his visit to the Emirate of Qassim Region, clarified that the rupture was partial in one of the terminal pipelines supplying water to the city of Buraydah and did not impact water supply to beneficiaries.


Eng. Al-Sharekh added that the Water Transmission and Technologies Company immediately addressed the issue by activating emergency response and business continuity plans, initiating repair work, and it is expected that the pipeline will be back in service within 24 hours.


He further emphasized that the Saudi Water Authority places great importance on the stability of water supplies by ensuring continuous supervision and monitoring of services around the clock, in full coordination with the relevant authorities in the water sector, to guarantee the stability of services for all beneficiaries.
